"What do you want me to say ..........?"
Who?This course is for aspirational leaders who want to lead a person centred service or culture. This course can also be adapted as a self advocacy course for service users. Why?•To raise awareness of issues relating to self advocacy, representational advocacy and person centred planning •To explore the impact of interpretive language and to learn higher level listening skills •To develop communication and rapport skills •To practise skills in a safe and supportive environment What? This course content will be adapted to meet the needs of the specific learning group. We will draw on the experiences of participants and enable their experiences to be 'played back' by actors. This 'play back' technique offers opportunity for learners to be the outside observers of their own reality. Through the 'play back' they can explore issues and direct the outcome of the situation in a safe way. This technique employs judgment and communication skills and asks learners to 'step into the shoes' of others. The course presents some key concepts in listening skills and representing views accurately.
