Often regarded as a dry subject, we bring to life the human aspects of failure to manage HSE and follow the lives of people for whom we may be responsible in a work context. We offer up to date legislation on the responsibilities of all managers of HSE and of the employees they manage. Who?This course can be developed for a wide range of clients in a variety of contexts, including leaders in safety critical industry, lone workers in a communitysetting and security staff. Why?•To know and understand the importance of health and safety regulation and the penalties for not implementing safe practice. •To explore why some people continue to cause unsafe incidents •To develop awareness of potential risks in a variety of settings •To practise skills in incident investigation and communicating the safety message
What?A simulated auction will engage people to consider the importance of safety issues by asking the to discuss and then bid for the safety processes and good practice which they feel is most important.
In this course we work alongside safety specialists who can advise on up to date legislation.
By investigating a fictional incident, the participants earn by doing. Actors may take the role of key personnel involved in the incident - it is up to the participant to build an accurate picture of the story. This incident can be further explored by 'rewinding the clock' and seeing what actually happened.
"It's not my fault" are the words of Ryan Collins. An incident has hindered progress on a refurbishment. "John simply didn't look where he was going, he's a mate of mine. We might fool around on site, but I never thought I'd see him hurt"
